I understand why Empyrion has ships in classes, but it would be nice to have turrets on SVs, beds on HVs, and why do some of my weapons magically cease to function when in atmo on my CV even though the smaller equivalents work on SVs. If you want a 2km long capital ship with 100 turrets on it, go for it. I have plenty of what would be considered SVs in Space Engineers that have turrets on them for example. There are posts stating what Empyrion does better so I list a few of the things I like about SE:ġ) There are no dedicated ships, you build what you want. Originally there was not going to be oxygen or planets, so they took a huge amount of time and resources implementing planets and other development suffered because of it. I think one of the problems with SE is that they let the fans dictate how the game was developed a little too much. I'd love to see an SE II with a better engine.

I still like playing SE, but I have to agree that it is probably pretty close to the end of its lifetime or at least the end of its development cycle. The devs are going for a mad cashgrab now and are taking new content from the game and turning it into paid-for DLC to squeeze more money out of players who bought it early when it was cheap.ītw, this game is intended for multiplayer, so people without the DLC can see but cannot build, use or interact in any way with DLC blocks and items. Regardless, SE looks like it's on its last legs. Were it not for the early moddability of SE, I doubt it would've survived this long. Then there's the programmable blocks, which iirc requires the player be capable of C++ programming in order to program even basic ship commands. Ores and ingots will be automatically sent, recieved, routed and will appear wherever they're needed or sent to storage if not. If you connect any machine to a conveyor or any adjacent machine's hatch it all gets automated with no player input. Whether it be the inadequate survival mode, unmanned cargo ships or the mismatching difficulty of game features.Įxample: Conveyor systems are retard-simple. They'd add a new feature that's the gateway to bigger things and then never follow on. Unfortunately, SE's development path turned to crap after the first two years. As said above, SE is more focused on engineering.
